Salesforce CRM
Salesforce is a leading CRM platform. Channelyze can integrate with Salesforce to synchronise Channelyze leads, deals, line items, products and partners with Salesforce. The synchronisation is initially one-way, meaning that changes made in Channelyze are reflected in Salesforce and then two way for synchronised data, in that certain data synchronised to Salesforce may then be updated in Salesforce such that it is kept updated in Channelyze.
Configuration
Start by enabling the Salesforce integration by clicking the Manage button next to Salesforce in the Integrations tab of the Settings area. Then press the Enabled button.
Next, press the New Connection button and sign into your Salesforce account. Ensure that you sign in as a user with sufficient priviledges to create new custom fields and to create and update Leads, Accounts, Contacts and Opportunities. Enter a suitable name for the connection in the Connect to Salesforce dialog box (or accept the default name) and press OK. The Salesforce configuration settings will be shown in the panel underneath.
Synchronising leads & deals
The integration supports two-way update synchronisation of leads and deals, however only leads and deals created in Channelyze will be synchronised to Salesforce. Deals created in Salesforce will not be synchronised to Channelyze.
To enable synchronisation of leads and deals, select “Yes” from the “Synchronise leads & deals” dropdown and select the Salesforce deal stage that Channelyze deals will be synchronised to initially.
Also, select whether Channelyze leads will be synchronised to Salesforce as a linked account, contact and opportunity or whether they will be synchronised as an unconverted lead. If you choose to synchronise leads as uncoverted Salesforce leads then, once the lead is converted within Salesforce, the resulting account, contact and optional opportunity will be kept synchronised.
You can control the title of Salesforce deals that are synchronised from deals that are created in Channelyze. New Channelyze deals default to {{dealname}} [{{dealtype}}], where dealname is the name of the Channelyze deal (typically the end user) and dealtype is the type of deal, e.g. New, Upsell or Renewal. For instance, a renewal deal in Channelyze for a company called Widgets Inc would appear in Salesforce as “Widgets Inc [Renewal]”.
If you want to include the value of the deal in the title you can also include the replacement field. A summary of the replacement fields for naming Salesforce deals is as follows:
Replacement field | Description |
---|---|
dealname | The name of the deal as shown in Channelyze |
dealtype | The type of the deal in Channelyze. Possible values are ‘New’, ‘Upsell’ or ‘Renewal’. |
dealvalue | The value of the deal. |
partnername | The name of the partner associated with the deal. |
By default, existing Channelyze leads and deals will not be synchronised from Channelyze to Salesforce. Only new leads and deals created in Channelyze will be synchroised. To start the one-way synchronisation process for existing Channelyze leads and deals, press the Transfer leads and deals to Salesforce button. This button may be pressed multiple times without causing any duplication.
The partner associated with deals will appear as a partner link for the corresponding Opportunity. However, this will only show if partner synchronisation is enabled and partners have been synchronised.
Synchronising partners
The integration can synchronise partners from Channelyze into accounts and contacts in Salesforce. Once synchronised, certain changes made in Salesforce will be reflected in Channelyze and vice versa. New partners added to Channelyze will appear in Salesforce automatically, and will be kept synchronised. Existing partners in Channelyze will only be synchronised with Salesforce when the Transfer Partners To Salesforce button is pressed. To enable synchronising of partners, select Yes from the Synchronise Partners drop down.
You can control the account type that synchronised partners will be set to by selecting from the dropdown labelled “Select the Salesforce account type to use for partners”. Typically, this would be Channel partner/reseller.
You can also specify the role associated with partners. Any leads registered by partners or any deals closed by partners will result in a Salesforce Opportunity linked to the corresponding partner via an OpportunityPartner link and the type of link will be set to the value that you select from the dropdown labelled Select the Salesforce partner role to use for partners.
Synchronising price lists
The integration can synchronise Salesforce Products and Price books to a corresponding Channelyze product family, price list and product set. To synchronise price lists, select Yes from the Synchronise Price Lists drop down and press the Synchronise Price Lists button.
Once price lists have been synchronised, line items associated with Channelyze leads and deals will be synchronised as price book entries for the corresponding synchronised Salesforce Opportunity.
